Community Development Programs

Summer Program

T.E.A.M. Sports Academy (TSA) is a sports and education program that focuses on developing sports skills, life skills and healthy life styles with children. Aimed at elementary and middle school aged students, TSA includes training in baseball, basketball, battle ball, football, kick ball, physical fitness, softball, soccer and track sports. Along with sports instruction the program integrates curriculum teaching healthy lifestyle choices, kid-friendly stress management techniques; improved literacy through a reading program and character development including a session in music and art. TSA operates as a full day program Monday through Friday typically 9:00 am to 4:00 pm throughout the summer.

Clinics

TSA will provide one day clinics in a variety of sports for players and coaches throughout the year. Qualified staff will lead these clinics for players and coaches many times involving former professional or current day players with college players and coaches.

T.E.A.M. Sports Programs

A variety of sports are offered at our four day programs. The day begins with a rigorous exercise program before breaking into smaller groups to teach the skills of the particular sport through drills and team play. Many times former professional athletes, college players and college coaches are involved.

Sports Leagues

TSA will offer youth leagues for children ages 7 through 14 years old throughout the year.

T.E.A.M. Sports Academy (Vacation Bible School)

This curriculum was created in conjunction with sports to encourage and build self-esteem as well as minister to the spirits of young children. We believe that children are important and that our responsibility is to teach and train children. The curriculum developed by Alan Marsh of Word Alive Church, has many sports examples brought together with spiritual applications. The children will learn how to gain victory according to the Word as each day a different letter of T.E.A.M. is discussed leading into a new adventure in the Word. We hope that you will be excited by the vision we have to see every child develop their full potential, both physically and spiritually.

Sports Spectacular Weekend

A Sports Spectacular Weekend is an innovative way to have an everlasting impact upon the youth and families of your church and community. The weekend brings spiritual growth and life changes for those who participate in our sports programs, worship workshop, parent seminar for teenagers, men’s ministry, women’s ministry, youth leadership and worship services. You may want to have everything mentioned above or pick and choose the components you want to have at your Sports Spectacular Weekend.

Support System for Youth and Families

TSA will establish a support system with local ministries where youth and families can find help and hope to face daily living in their community. Programs construct and enrich their young lives so their communities will see change.

After School Program

At the end of the summer T.E.A.M. Sports Academy (TSA) will offer educational classes and physical fitness training with sports. The After School Program will serve elementary to middle school aged students. The program consists of sessions in math, reading, character development, computer lab, health and homework help. Sports remain a vital part of the after school program offering physical fitness, health and sports skills training to children throughout the school year. The after school program is scheduled to operate daily Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Parental Symposium

The National Character Education Foundation will supply speakers to hold this event several times per year for the parents. The program is designed to educate parents to the ever changing youth culture. To help them understand the myriad of outside influences potentially affecting their children and to become more involved in their children’s lives.

Workforce Development

If having a center, CSI may include a workforce development tool for the current and future needs of the community. It will not only create jobs and is an economic impact to the community but will be a training and skills center to increase the economic development opportunities for the community.

This workforce development initiative of the Center will serve multiple purposes:

• The Center will provide the soft skills training and remedial education for the 18-24 year olds who chose to stay in the community in order for them to have family sustainable employment in and around the community.

• The Center will assist in retraining individuals who are displaced or dislocated in the workforce.

• The Center will assist the county in attracting new business and industry to the county through its workforce development initiative and other programs that attract organizations to a region.

• The Center will provide state of the art technology in its classrooms and computer labs.
